Underneath the Devil's Star

So, I finally got my art bunny finished. Now I can be more productive

Pose is referenced from this painting of Ophelia [link] Some of you are likely wondering what a character from the video game Sengoku Basara has to do with a Shakespearean character. Well, they have a lot in common; they both go crazy after the death of a loved one, they both sing songs to tell their stories, and no one around them really understands what they are singing and why and they are both highly associated with flowers. I loved finding all of these similarities, so I had to draw Oichi as inspired by one of my favourite paintings of Ophelia. The rag-doll pose from Cabanel's painting suited Oichi all too well, so that is the painting I chose to use (although I love the one by Waterhouse as well).

So, here we have Oichi being pulled up by her shadowy hands. I went with a dawn scene because of the ending of the Kanegasaki level (that is also why I included poppies). I know some of the anatomy is off, especially the forshortening on the one arm. I'm really happy with this over all though and I cannot tell you how much time went into it over the past month or so.
