Not So Traditional Tuesdays #4My plan is to keep the features fresh for me(and you) and maybe open a few eyes to all the different kinds of artwork that is available while browsing the deviantArt galleries. The things that make one piece of art great applies, for the most part, to other genres. A painter can learn how light and shadow fall from photography, photo-manipulators can learn about composition from a great Manga drawing, and literature can give you the inspiration to try something new or take your work to the next step. You may never try all art forms you see! You can however take what you learn from them and incorporate that into your own work. It could be the difference between stagnating and that breakthrough every artist wants to find!

Non-traditional Features!I do a feature of traditional art every week,

OKAY, almost every week! Just for fun, I thought I could do one without any traditional pieces in it, and this is it. So far I've gotten stuck in the Digital and Photography galleries. There's way to much great work in those galleries to even scratch the surface in the few hours that I've been able to browse through them. So here you go, some of my favorite work other than traditional. This might become a semi-regular feature, every 2-3 weeks or when ever I feel like it. Please enjoy!

Literature DD Roundup: June 2012 June Literature Daily Deviations
Hello Everyone!
Why is this year moving so fast?
I have received several notes from people asking why we have dropped from 2 DDs a day to just one in Lit (with the exception of Saturday), so I thought perhaps it is worth explaining publically our reasoning.
As you all know, it can be really difficult to find a good range of Literature deviations that we can feature and trying to find one every single day is a painful task and we would be concerned that the quality of our choices could dip if we pushed ourselves to find one every single day. With just 2 of us now, we have to work harder to find the ones we do. Unlike visual art, we have to spend time reading every single piece we make a decision on and this is time consuming.
If we received more suggestions from the community, we would perhaps consider increasing some days to two, but for now it will remain on one until a third CV joins the team. Please do keep your s

Contest

Since we have monthly features set up and I have found a way to use skins and what not without being a super group, I think it's past time we had a Sengoku Basara themed CSS for not only the features, but any of the fans to use. I am willing to do the code, but I figured the art should be open to the fans

Rules
-Finished piece must be resized to 500w X 300h pixels
-Must be your own art
-Only characters canon to the Sengoku Basara Video Games or Anime allowed
-Must be alright with the image being used in a public CSS (no editing will be done to the image, however)
-Digital, traditional and cosplay allowed
-Must be PG-13
-Have fun

Prizes:
Winner will have their art used for the CSS and it will be the official CSS of the group

They also can have a choice of a 3 month premium membership or the equivalent in points.

Deadline: August 10th

Judging: This one will be put to the group to vote on, so no judges required
