Style?

I'm having some problems with my art, at least with drawing humans anyway. I feel like my equines have improved a lot this year but I don't feel like my humans have followed. I know that my art isn't how I want it to look but I also don't know what I want it to look like either. All this, basically to ask, how did you find your style? What inspirations led you down your creative paths? Any other advice is welcome too =)

As of three days ago, I have (through 2 accounts) been on this website for 15 years. I'm not as present as I once was, I mostly just post and run or do admin stuff for Quirlicorns (https://www.deviantart.com/quirlicorns) . I can't imagine ever fully leaving the site but the last few years have been tough for me so I'm just sort of haunting the place, you know? I guess now is a good time for some updates. I came home from the hospital in mid-July. The ECT didn't really help me, it just gave me some memory issues. We're back to trying different meds again and if the next one doesn't work, we're going to be seriously considering MAOIs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monoamine_oxid

I have spent the past 3 weeks debating on whether or not to make this a public post. Those that I talk to on discord and FB already have an idea, but I always feel weird leaving my watchers out of the know, even when it should be personal. So I'll just be out with it: I've been in the hospital all month (with occasional visits home). I am here receiving electroconvulsive shock therapy (ECT) for my treatment resistant depression. Basically electrodes get put on my head, I get an IV put in that feeds me sedatives and knocks me out so that the electrodes can enduce a seizure. I've done this 7 times already and my depression seems to be resis
